Creating Clarity at Scale
Sysco Code of Conduct
Corporate Publication · Information Design
The Challenge
Sysco needed to turn its Code of Conduct into something employees would actually want to use. The content was important, but there was a lot of it, covering everything from workplace expectations and ethical decision-making to legal and compliance requirements.
The challenge was to organize all of that information so it felt clear and approachable, without losing the authority a document like this needs.
My Approach
I created a flexible editorial system with strong hierarchy, clear navigation and plenty of visual breathing room. Color, typography, photography, icons and callouts help break up dense content and make it easier to find what matters.
The goal wasn’t to decorate a corporate document. It was to make a complicated one easier to read and use.
A consistent navigation system helps readers move confidently through complex content.
Color-coded sections create intuitive wayfinding throughout the publication.
A scalable visual system uses color, icons, and persistent wayfinding to help readers stay oriented throughout the publication.
Visual frameworks turn complex concepts into information readers can quickly understand and retain.
The Result
The finished Code of Conduct feels less like a policy manual and more like a useful resource. Employees can scan it, find what they need and understand the information without having to dig through pages of dense copy.
The design also gives Sysco a consistent framework for presenting a large amount of information clearly, while still feeling unmistakably like the Sysco brand.
